It looks like Chinese company OnePlus is determined to reveal the specs of its upcoming flagship smartphone one by one until the device gets officially unveiled.

Although OnePlus did not announce when it plans to launch its high-end Android phone, we expect it to be unveiled sometime in July.

Up until now, the Chinese OEM confirmed that OnePlus 2 would be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset inside.

The company also announced that this would the revisioned version of the SoC (system-on-chip), which should not have any overheating issues.

Obviously, that remains to be seen since this seems to be the same chipset that now powers the Sony Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4, and both smartphones have been affected by overheating issues.

Anyway, apart from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 chipset that will be included in the OnePlus 2, the Chinese handset maker announced today that the smartphone would also come packed with a brand-new technology.

The smartphone should ship with a special microUSB cable

OnePlus 2 will be one of the first flagship smartphones to feature USB Type C port. This means that you will need a special microUSB cable if you want to connect it to your PC or charge it.

But we expect OnePlus to ship the handset with a dedicated cable inside the sales package, which should be fully compatible with the new USB Type C port.

OnePlus' announcement doesn't really come as a surprise since both Apple and Google are pushing the new standard to most of their upcoming products, including smartphones and tablets.

This is the second major reveal related to OnePlus 2, and as we're getting close to launch, there will be more of these teasers that will confirm some of the phone's main strong points.

In the next reveal we will probably learn more about the OnePlus 2's display or camera, but that remains to be seen.
