OnePlus continues to roll out new software updates for its smartphones, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X. Both devices have been the target of various improvements and fixes in the last couple of months, which should convince customers that the Chinese company is one of the few handset makers that really wants to provide the best possible experience on their smartphones.

Some of you might remember that OnePlus 2 received about a month ago a new OxygenOS 2.2.1 update, which added a handful of new features, as well as many fixes and improvements.

However, the update was not made available at that time, and the Chinese company is already in the process of offering yet another major upgrade for One Plus 2, OxygenOS 3.0.

The good news is OnePlus has finally kicked off the rollout of OxygenOS 2.2.1 for OnePlus X, its only mid-range Android smartphone launched on the market yet.

Although there aren’t many changes included in the update, OnePlus X owners are recommended to upgrade as soon as possible since it brings some fixes and a few improvements to key features inside their phones.

The update brings APN support for additional carriers

For example, OnePlus has confirmed that the update brings a GMS 3.0 upgrade and that the APN has been updated to support Tigo carrier, something that wasn’t available in the previous version of OxygenOS.

On top of that, developers state that they have addressed an issue for data leak while roaming, which many OnePlus X users experienced in some regions. Also, the update includes a fix for microphone being muted when using Google Hangouts, and another one for app drawer not launching when Google search bar is hidden.

Aside from these fixes and improvements, OnePlus also added a security patch update, along with some general bug fixes and optimizations.

According to OnePlus, the rollout of the update will be incremental, which means that not all OnePlus X devices will receive it at the same time.
