Samsung has just tweeted a photo of the Galaxy Note 8, either accidentally or on purpose, providing us with a quick glimpse into what the company’s new phablet is going to look like.

The press render was posted on Twitter with the purpose of highlighting the Samsung Exynos 8895 processor, which is expected to power the Note 8 as well. While the company hasn’t offered any other details, the chip is described as “a process to create infinite possibilities.”

At first glance, there’s not much to see in this press render, though at a closer look, there are few details that could provide us with an idea on what to expect from the Note 8.

The speaker cutout at the top of the screen appears to be longer than on the Galaxy S8, and there’s a chance that Samsung extended it in order to install another speak underneath it. This means the Note 8 could be stereo, a well-deserved feature upgrade from the mono speaker configuration on the Galaxy S8.

Leaks and renders that have leaked in the last couple of months showed that the Note 8 would be a slightly bigger Galaxy S8, but it looks like Samsung is actually working on several other upgrades in terms of features. The display will also be expanded to 6.3 inches, while the battery will be somewhere in the region of 3,300 mAh. The Note 8 will obviously come with a revised S Pen.

The Note 8 will feature dual cameras, and the fingerprint sensor won’t be embedded in the screen, as initially rumored, but still be placed on the back of the phone, slightly closer to the right edge.

As far as the launch date is concerned, there were reports that Samsung could bring it to the market in the second half of September, though more recent information indicated that the target is now August 23, as Samsung wants by all means to launch its device before the new iPhones land in September.
