One of Microsoft's most recent acquisition, Obsidian Entertainment is known for its RPG titles such as Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity. The studio's next game – The Outer World belongs to the same genre and is due on October 25, which means Obsidian may already start working on a new game.

Regardless of how well their upcoming game will be received by critics and players, Obsidian must move on to another project and judging by a LinkedIn job posting spotted by PC Gamer, it looks like that's exactly what the studio is trying to do.

No less than 11 jobs are now open at Obsidian Entertainment, ranging from lead narrative designer to network programmer. The little information we get from the jobs listing reveals that the persons looking to join the development team will be working on Obsidian's “next great multi-platform RPG.”

Obsidian also wants to hire a Combat Designer “with proven experience developing first-person melee combat gameplay to join our team of talented developers,” as well as UI, Engine and Gameplay programmers. All must have experience with Unreal Engine.

Although Obsidian's RPGs usually don't feature multiplayer modes, the studio is looking to hire a Network Programmer “to develop network and multiplayer gameplay systems using Unreal Engine.”

Here is the full list of jobs that Obsidian posted on LinkedIn recently: Lead Narrative Designer, Engine Programmer, Combat Designer, Character Animator, Lighting Artist, Graphics Programmer, Network Programmer, UI Programmer, Financial Analyst, Gameplay Programmer, and User Interface Artist.

Unfortunately, the job listings don't mention anything about the project, so we don't know yet whether or not this is a new IP. In any case, it looks like Obsidian has found a good home under Microsoft's umbrella, as the studio is growing to bring a steady flow of new games to the market regularly.
