NVIDIA has officially released GeForce drivers version 381.65, bringing among many other improvements support for Windows 10 Creators Update as well.

Microsoft allows users to download the Creators Update via the Update Assistant before the April 11 launch on Windows Update, and it’s no surprise that many users rushed to install it.

The latest NVIDIA drivers come not only to help users performing the update to benefit from the best possible gaming performance, but also to address a number of issues that were reported in the last 24 hours.

First and foremost, the new features. In addition to Creators Update support, NVIDIA GeForce drivers version 381.65 come with support for NVIDIA Titan Xp, and DTS X and Dolby Atmos with 5.1.2 speaker configuration. There’s also Dolby Vision support for games, NVIDIA Control Panel improvements, a new SLI profile for Descent: Underground and several other fixes and improvements.

Issues with older NVIDIA drivers on Creators Update

While this isn’t a widespread issue, it appears that some users were hit with BSODs when installing the Creators Update without first updating the NVIDIA drivers.

A post on reddit indicates that updating the drivers before actually performing the switch to the Creators Update is the easiest way to avoid the BSOD.

Other users reveal that after upgrading to the Windows 10 Creators Update, the previous NVIDIA driver versions are removed and, instead, the operating system installs the generic Microsoft NVIDIA drivers lacking OpenGL support. What users need to do in this case is to manually download GeForce drivers 381.65 and install them after completing the move to the Creators Update.

It goes without saying that users updating to the Windows 10 Creators Update should install the new drivers, so download NVIDIA GeForce 381.65 from Softpedia to prevent any compatibility issue and benefit from maximum graphic performance on the new OS version.
