NuAns is one of the companies that actually believed in Windows phones, but after trying to resist on this collapsing mobile platform, the Japanese manufacturer finally decided to do what many other users, developers, and OEMs are doing these days: switch to Android.

The NuAns NEO [Reloaded] is thus the company’s attempt at conquering the Android world, and what’s very important to note is that they are using the same approach as on Windows phones, trying to offer insane customization options that you won’t find anywhere else these days.

The phone, which runs Android 7.1 Nougat needs $370,000 to come to life, and hopefully it will get the funding, especially because it could serve as the number one choice for Windows phone users making the switch over to Android.

NuAns developed the handset based on the company’s signature TWOTONE design, which are interchangeable back covers that allow you to customize the phone with more than 600 cover combinations and materials, including leather, wood, and even denim. And, more importantly, you can create your very own back cover using the colors and the materials that you personally choose.

Technical specifications

In terms of specs, the NuAns NEO [Reloaded] is not supposed to be a Samsung Galaxy S8 killer, but it does come with specs that should match the requirements of the majority of Android users out there.

Power comes from a Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3GB RAM, and buyers also get 32GB storage with microSD card support, a 13-megapixel main camera, a fingerprint sensor, a headphone jack (yes!), Type-C with fast charging, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The 3450 mAh battery should keep the 5.2-inch full HD phone up and running for at least one full day, but as usual, battery life depends on usage patterns.

If you want to support this campaign, you can head over to Indiegogo, with a $355 donation securing the phone in a configuration with black plastic covers, but without any custom covers or cases.
