Data shows how the iPhone dominates the mobile world

While statistics show that Android continues to be the number one mobile operating system all over the world, it’s also not a secret that the iPhone is the best-selling model in so many countries.

And statistics shared by Counterpoint and highlighted by Philip Elmer-DeWitt show that iPhone’s domination is real and won’t be coming to an end too soon.

In the United States, iPhone 11 Pro is the smartphone with the biggest market share, followed surprisingly not by the Samsung Galaxy S20 or another model in the Galaxy S lineup, but by the South Koreans’ Galaxy A10e. Samsung Galaxy A20 is next, with iPhone XR and iPhone 11 Pro Max taking the fourth and fifth places, respectively.

Things are even worse for Android in the United Kingdom where iPhones secured four of the top five spots in the mobile world, with only the Galaxy A71 making it to the fifth place.

You’d normally expect China to be more committed to Android, but no, Chinese users love iPhones too, and according to these stats, they love the iPhone 11 more than anything else. OPPO A8 comes second, followed by Huawei Honor 9X, Vivo Y3, and Huawei Mate 30 5G.

Meanwhile, Apple is getting ready to announce a new lineup of iPhones, with four different models to see daylight as part of the 2020 generation.

What we don’t know, however, is when Apple plans to take the wraps off the 2020 iPhone generation, as the company is said to be struggling with problems caused by the global health issue.

In other words, while the announcement is expected in September, sales could actually kick off in October or even November, albeit there are sources claiming that even the unveiling would be moved to a later date because of all these problems.
