Apple’s new iPhone 12 generation is just around the corner, and this time the company plans to unveil no less than four different models.

Originally, it was rumored that only one of these four iPhones would come with 5G support, but later on, it was discovered that Apple actually planned to bring such capabilities to every single model in the 2020 lineup.

And now that we’re literally only a few weeks away from the moment Apple will take the wraps off the new iPhones, a fresh report indicates that the top of the range configuration will indeed come with an exclusive feature.

It’s the support for millimeter-wave 5G, a feature that would provide even faster speeds. According to Fast Company, only the top-of-the-range iPhone 12 Pro Max will come with it, and such capabilities will be exclusive to customers in the United States, Korea, and Japan.

Public launch in October

Everyone else, including here both markets and iPhone models, will get the Sub-6 5G mode, according to the report, which is still good, but not as advanced as the upgrade planned for the Pro Max.

Apple’s 2020 iPhone lineup will include four different models, with the smallest to be a brand-new 5.4-inch configuration. There will be two 6.1-inch iPhone versions, one of which will be a successor to the iPhone 11, while the other will be an upgraded iPhone 11 Pro.

Interestingly enough, iPhone 12 Pro Max has been rumored to come with a 6.9-inch display, but today’s report indicates it will feature a 6.5-inch screen.

The debut of the new iPhones is projected to happen in October, while sales should kick off in November. This is later than Apple’s typical release calendar, but plans have changed due to production struggles generated by the global health crisis.
