HMD Global is expected to announce a new premium smartphone under the Nokia brand, a device which will carry the retail name Nokia 9. The smartphone was spotted in benchmark again, this time running Snapdragon 835 and featuring 4GB of RAM.

The device which surfaced on Geekbench carries the codename HMD Global TA-1052 and is presumably the Nokia 9, as it’s the only phone with such specs expected to be unveiled by HMD Global in the near future.

The smartphone managed to record a score of 2,196 points in the single-core test and 7,413 points in the multi-core test. It runs the 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC and features 4GB of RAM. Moreover, it will ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

Nokia 9 could ship in a variant with 6GB of RAM

Nokia 9 surfaced in benchmarks recently with 6GB of RAM, and rumor has it that HMD Global will release several variants of the new phone with different RAM capacity. The 6GB of RAM model carries the codename Unknown Heart.

Rumors say that the upcoming Nokia 9 might feature a 5.5-inch display with QHD resolution, together with 557 dpi and 530 nits maximum brightness. It could also feature a dual-camera setup on the back with two 13MP sensors and a USB Type-C port.

Internal storage could reach 64GB or 128GB on the variant with higher RAM capacity, and the phone could come with Quick Charge 3.0. In terms of pricing, rumors say that Nokia 9 might carry a price tag of $700 in the US and €750 in Europe. It may also come with a feature similar to Samsung’s Always-On Display tool that shows the clock and recent notifications on the screen.

The front home button will most likely feature an embedded fingerprint scanner, while the phone might retain the 3.5mm headphone jack. Nokia 9 is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, although an actual unveil date wasn't officially revealed.
