14 DAY TRIAL // The fact that Nokia 6 is exclusive to China seems to be hurting sales for the mid-range Android smartphone. When an iconic brand like Nokia introduces its first phone in a very long time, there should be lots of pre-orders in the first days after the announcement.
As many of you probably know by now, Nokia 6 is only available in China where it's sold exclusively through major retailer JD.com.
Customers can now pre-register to find out when the Nokia 6 arrives in stock, but in order to actually reserve one, they must pay a $9 fee.
New reports coming from China claim that there have been 250,000 registrations for the Nokia 6 in less than 24 hours since the official unveil. However, China Business News states that there have been a bit over 100,000 pre-orders in 4 days.
Nokia 6 has been confirmed to hit the shelves on January 19. Those interested can buy the phone for just $245. It's also worth mentioning that the $9 reservation fee will be deducted from the retail price of the smartphone.
Although it's very possible that the Nokia 6 will eventually be released outside China, it will probably be more expensive than the current suggested retail price.
Nokia 6 is a solid mid-range smartphone that runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box. The only downside is the phone's Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, but other than that, it doesn't have any other weaknesses.
HMD Global's first Nokia-branded smartphone sports a large 5.5-inch display with full HD (1080p) resolution. It also packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB expandable memory (up to 256GB).
Another strong point would be the 16-megapixel rear-facing camera that features dual-LED flash and PDAF (phased detection autofocus). There's also an 8-megapixel secondary camera in the front.
The Nokia 6 is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery with fast charging technology, and features fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio jack and dual-SIM support.
