The iPhone X is here experiencing huge demand, and after modest sales recorded by the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus, Apple is back to growth in a way that seems to be pretty much unstoppable right now.

Market analyst firm TrendForce estimates that by the end of the year, the brand-new iPhone X should help Apple become the world’s number one phone manufacturer, finally overtaking current leader Samsung.

In terms of numbers, the analysis reveals that smartphone production reached 384 million units in the third quarter of this year, but the total volume should be increased by 6.3 percent to no less than 424 million in the fourth quarter.

Apple will be the one to thank to for the growth, and TrendForce says the iPhone X will be one of the biggest catalysts for this strong performance.

Apple to become the leader

While right now Samsung is the leader of the mobile industry with a 21.1 percent market share, the South Korean firm records dropping sales in the biggest markets worldwide, mostly as a result of the debut of the iPhone X. China is one particular example, with the analysts saying that Apple has a huge opportunity to grow big in this challenging market.

Apple’s market share is expected to skyrocket from 11.5 percent in Q3 to no less than 19.1 percent in Q4, while Samsung will fell to 18.2 percent. This will make Apple the leader in the mobile industry.

Cupertino will build a total of 81 million iPhone units the next quarter and no less than 27 million of them will be the iPhone X. Samsung, on the other hand, is likely to cut orders for its flagships given the huge demand for the new iPhone.

What’s worth mentioning, however, is that Samsung is expected to recover in the first quarters of the next year, as the company is getting ready to introduce its new S9 flagship sometime in the spring.
