The notch trend continues amongst Android smartphones

If you though your next OnePlus smartphone won't have a notch, think again, because OnePlus just confirmed it with an official image of the upcoming Android device.

The Verge offers an exclusive first look at the next OnePlus Android-powered smartphone, the OnePlus 6, which will be the company's new flagship device, expected to arrive later this year. And, believe it or not, it will have a display notch, similar to Apple's iPhone X or the Essential Phone, as well as numerous other Android phones.

Some will take this as a good thing, but others won't and will probably try to look elsewhere when OnePlus unveil their highly-anticipated OnePlus 6 smartphone. We told you that the "notch" is becoming a trend amongst Android devices and that, most probably, you'll have to deal with it.

We have to admit that OnePlus smartphones look pretty good, so the Chinese smartphone manufacturer copying the "notch" trend for its next flagship, the OnePlus 6, will probably do more bad than good to its campaign, not to mention that some fans could ditch this year's model because of the notch.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei explained for The Verge what it was important for them to implement the notch on the OnePlus 6, so make sure you read the piece if you want to know why your next OnePlus phone will a "notch" design. In the meanwhile, start looking for a different phone if you don't like the notch.

You'll have to look elsewhere if you don't like the notch

If you plan on buying a new Android smartphone this year, you'll have to look elsewhere if you don't like the notch because OnePlus 6 will have a display notch. Problem is your chances to find an Android smartphone without a notch are getting smaller by the minute, as more an more Android phone manufacturers adopt the notch lately.

Huawei is the latest to have adopted the notch for its latest flagship, the Huawei P20, and there's also the Xiaomi Mi MIX S2, as well as ASUS ZenFone 5, LG G7, OPPO R15, Leagoo S9, Doogee V, Ulefone T2 Pro, Oukitel U18, and many others. Right now, Samsung is among those that haven't adopted the "notch."
