Two more tidbits of information about Star Wars Battlefront have just appeared online, this time with developer DICE confirming that the upcoming sci-fi shooter will not feature the split-screen mechanic on the PC platform, instead limiting it to the PS4 and Xbox One consoles. What's more, the studio also announces that the solo or co-op missions will only offer credits as rewards for players, instead of experience that counts towards their multiplayer career.

Star Wars Battlefront is eagerly awaited by millions of fans all around the world, as not only does it bring back the franchise to the world of interactive gaming but it also revives the cult classic Battlefront spin-off series.

Developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts have shared quite a lot of interesting details in recent months, especially back in June at E3 2015, where several different gameplay demonstrations were made.

After having concluded the brief Star Wars Battlefront PC closed alpha test, DICE is now sharing a few more details on the official website, through the voice of its Community Manager Mathew Everett.

PC players won't get split-screen in Battlefront

First up, a bit of bad news for PC fans, as Star Wars Battlefront will not bring its split-screen feature to its platform. Instead, it seems that only those on consoles, i.e. PS4 and Xbox One, will be able to play with a friend locally.

No exact reasoning has been given by DICE for this decision, and it's unlikely that more explanations will appear anytime soon.

Missions are varied but only give out credits

Secondly, the studio has also confirmed that the solo missions will only offer credits, which can be used to unlock more gear in the multiplayer mode. Those looking for experience to count for their multiplayer career won't find any here, as apparently, DICE wants to keep the modes separate in this regard.

The studio does mention that, besides the survival mission seen at E3 2015, there will be many other scenarios, including trails, battles, and hero battles.

Star Wars Battlefront launches this November across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
