It’s only available for download in the United States

Miitomo, the first mobile application launched by Nintendo, has just been released in the United States two weeks after being released in Japan.

The application raked more than 1 million users on Android and iOS less than a week after it was launched in Japan, one more reason for Nintendo to bring Miitomo to other countries.

Unfortunately, Miitomo has only been released in North America, which means you should be able to download it from the US and Canada. Nintendo will also launch the application in the UK, but it’s unclear when and if Nintendo will bring the application to other countries as well. We hope that will happen sooner rather than later.

Play and win prizes

Here is a short excerpt from the app’s description: “Miitomo is an app from Nintendo that brings out a side of you your friends have never seen before! How? By making a Mii of yourself, that's your personal go-between! Ever wonder what fun details make you...YOU? Your Mii will find out by asking you questions about yourself! Want your friends to know all about these little insights into your likes, dislikes, or just what you're thinking lately? Your Mii will go visit your friends' Mii characters and tell them!”

You should also know that if you plan to download Miitomo, you will be eligible to win prizes. The application features a minigame in which players drop a Mii into a playing field, and then watch it bounce around as it falls toward a variety of platforms. So, based on where it lands, you will be able to win a prize.

You can now download Miitomo for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.1 and up. Keep in mind, though, that Miitomo offers in-app purchases, so you should disable this feature from the settings menu if you don’t want to spend real money.
