The console might soon get an official reveal

At this point, the team at Nintendo that's actually in charge of the development of its new hardware platform should just admit that the sensible thing to do is to just make an official announcement about the NX and offer fans some clear information about the device rather than leave them to feast on rumors and wonder about the moment when clear details will emerge.

A thread on NeoGAF synthesizes a new set of revelations about the home console that have appeared recently, with yet another source saying that the coming Nintendo device will definitely be more powerful than the currently available PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft.

The new info here is that the company is apparently working on ports for the NX for Splatoon and Mario Maker, which are two of the most interesting video games to be recently launched on the Wii U.

More confusingly, it seems that the games might not be offered to the public when the new device launches and might be used to see how easy the process is and how it can be applied to future experiences.

Super Smash Bros. and Zelda titles are also in the porting queue for the NX, and the new rumors talk about the fact that handheld gaming will be a limited part of the coming hardware.

New Nintendo hardware might be launched before the end of summer

Another rumor claims that AMD is working on the graphics processing unit that will power the NX and that the device will have at least one unique feature that none of the sources talking about it so far has mentioned, partly because of the way NDAs associated with it are structured.

Information that appeared near the start of the year is saying that there are factories in Taiwan that are already exploring the manufacturing process linked to the NX and will start producing the home console in late spring.

Nintendo is expecting to make an official announcement at some point in early summer, probably at the E3 2016 event, and will then deliver the device to the market before the end of summer, aiming to sell between 12 and 15 million before the end of the fiscal year.

The new NX might have to face competition from both a new version of the PlayStation 4, which will have improved graphics capabilities and a Slim version of the Xbox One.
