Nintendo announced that, at the request of numerous hardcore retro gamers, it would bring back the NES Classic Edition in stores beginning June 29, 2018, along with the SNES Classic Edition later in the year.

If you never owned a Nintendo NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) gaming console back in the days when gaming was cool, or you no longer have your old NES console, you'll soon have the chance to buy a new one that's pretty much identical to the old system and features all the awesome games you used to play.

One and a half years ago, Nintendo brought back to life its NES gaming console with the NES Classic Edition, a dedicated console designed to emulate 30 classic NES games, including Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Mega Man, PAC-MAN, FINAL FANTASY, Metroid, Mario Bros., Galaga, and StarTropics.

Nintendo sold the NES Classic Edition for a few months, until April last year, when it announced that it'd be superseded by the Super NES Classic Edition gaming console, which launched on September 2017. However, the company then announced that it would halt the production of the SNES Classic Edition at the end of 2017.

NES Classic Edition and SNES Classic Edition to be available in stores on June 29, 2018

Now, Nintendo of America recently announced on Twitter that it brings back both the NES Classic Edition and SNES Classic Edition gaming consoles, which will be available for purchase in-store or online beginning June 29, 2018, at the price of $59.99 USD for the NES Classic Edition and $$79.99 USD for the SNES Clasic Edition.

"The NES Classic Edition system is a miniaturized version of the groundbreaking NES, originally released in 1985," said Nintendo on the official website of the NES Classic Edition. "Just plug the NES Classic Edition into your TV, pick up that gray controller, and rediscover the joy of NES games."

The box will also include the NES Classic Controller, which Nintendo said it works with the NES Virtual Console games on Wii U, an HDMI cable, AC adapter, and 30 pre-installed 8-bit retro games, including Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Mega Man 2, PAC-MAN, FINAL FANTASY, and Metroid.

Gamers will also be able to play popular titles like Kirby's Adventure, Castlevania, NINJA GAIDEN, Super Mario Bros. 2, Dr. Mario, Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream, Balloon Fight, Donkey Kong Jr., Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Excitebike, Ice Climber, Kid Icarus, DOUBLE DRAGON II: THE REVENGE, BUBBLE BOBBLE, and TECMO BOWL.

Also, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, Mario Bros., SUPER C, Galaga, StarTropics, GHOSTS'N GOBLINS, and GRADIUS will be included as well with the NES Classic Edition, which will let gamers save their games with Suspend Points, as well as to change the look of the games with the CRT filter, 4:3 and Pixel Perfect display modes.
