Nintendo confirmed a few months ago that it would start launching mobile games beginning 2016. One of the first games coming from the Japanese company is called Pokemon GO and, as promised, it will make its debut next year.

For the time being, Nintendo stated that Pokemon GO would be available on Android and iOS version, so it looks like a Windows Phone launch is out of the question. The game is the result of the collaboration between The Pokemon Company, Niantic and Nintendo.

The game is groundbreaking enough since it encourages players to search in the real world to discover Pokemon. According to developers, in Pokemon GO, players will be able to catch, trade, and battle in the real world by using location information.

Enhance your gameplay experience with a unique device called Pokemon GO Plus

How is that possible? Well, it looks like players will be able to enhance their gameplay experience by using a unique device called Pokemon GO Plus. By pressing a button on Pokemon GO Plus device, simple in-game actions like catching a Pokemon can be performed.

The new device will be manufactured by Nintendo and should connect to smartphones via Bluetooth, and by flashing and vibrating, it will notify players about events like the appearance of a Pokemon nearby.

On the other hand, the game will be developed by Niantic, a company known for the making of Ingress, an augmented reality mobile game which utilizes GPS technology.

“Pokémon GO is a wonderful combination of Niantic’s real world gaming platform and one of the most beloved franchises in popular culture.

“Our partnership with The Pokémon Company and Nintendo is an exciting step forward in real-world gaming and using technology to help players discover the world and people around them,” said John Hanke, founder and CEO of Niantic, Inc.
