Bobbi Kristina Brown (Krissi), the only daughter of the late Whitney Houston and ex-husband Bobby Brown, was only 22 when she died in July 2015. She’d spent the last 6 months of her life in a coma, with severe brain damage, after being found unresponsive, face down in the bathtub of the home she shared with “husband” Nick Gordon.

Gordon is now the subject of a criminal investigation, but the Houston Estate won’t wait until its results are made public: they sued him for wrongful death. In a new series of court documents, they say he killed Krissi by injecting her with a toxic mixture, People Magazine reports.

Nick Gordon killed Krissi

The Houston Estate filed the lawsuit against Gordon in June. At the time, they were merely saying he was responsible for her condition and were asking for $10 million (€8.8 million) in damages. After Krissi’s death, the amount was raised to $40 million (€35.2 million).

Earlier this week, Gordon tried to block the proceedings from moving ahead by saying that they should wait for the criminal investigation to end first. Otherwise, a verdict in the lawsuit unfavorable to him might create the impression that he really was guilty - and he wasn’t, he swore.

The Houston Estate is having none of that: in new papers filed by conservator Bedelia Hargrove, the family asks the judge to let the proceedings advance because Nick made no qualms about doing a Dr. Phil interview and charging $40,000 (€35,216) from paparazzi, for photos of him at Krissi’s gravesite.

In other words, he’s already distorting public opinion, so he has no reason to demand all public action cease until authorities wrap up the case.

Furthermore, the papers say, “Ms. Brown died due to a violent altercation with Defendant (Gordon) after which he placed her in a bathtub, unconscious, after he injected her with a toxic mixture.”

Previously, the family had said that he had “fed” Krissi the toxic cocktails of drugs.

A sad story

Krissi had been exposed to drugs since she was a kid, because of her mother’s addictions. Long before Whitney died in strangely similar circumstances, there had been rumors that Krissi too had the same problem, after photos and videos of her doing drugs had leaked online.

After Whitney’s death in 2012, Krissi started dating Nick, whom the singer had taken in and raised as her own son, even though she did not legally adopt him. The family was outraged and very much opposed to the idea, feeling that the relationship was “incestuous.”

Over a year before the January incident that put Krissi in the coma, there was talk of heavy drug use, encouraged by Nick, who was thus gaining control to the money Whitney had left her daughter - of which he had received none.

The family is convinced that this was really the case, hence the lawsuit. They believe Nick Gordon must be punished for what he did to Krissi.
