Google and HTC are expected to unveil two new Nexus smartphones this month or the next, with specs and images having already leaked online. The latest information regarding these handsets shows that Nexus Sailfish and Marlin have just passed through the FCC.

The FCC listing signals an imminent release for the Nexus Sailfish and Marlin, with the two smartphones carrying model numbers G-2PW2100 and G-2PW4100, respectively. The FCC listing has been spotted by Steve Hemmerstoffer, and it doesn’t reveal many details on the two devices.

Nevertheless, the listing does confirm that the two handsets will be designed by HTC and that the location of the phone manuals is Google’s website.

Nexus Sailfish and Marlin will come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box

Rumors point to the fact that the two smartphones will offer WiFi 802.11 connectivity options, together with Bluetooth and NFC capabilities. Of the two devices, Nexus Marlin is expected to boast the larger display, as word has it that it will pack a 5.5-inch QHD screen and Snapdragon 820. In addition, it will come with 4GB of RAM, a 13MP rear camera, and an 8MP unit on the front. Battery capacity could reach 3,450mAh. Both phones will most likely come with USB Type-C ports and run Android 7.0 Nougat.

Nexus Sailfish will have a smaller display as compared to Marlin, with 5 inches and 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. It will also come with Snapdragon 820 and 4GB of RAM, together with a 2,770mAh battery. The handset will have 32GB of internal memory, a 12MP rear camera, as well as an 8MP unit on the front.

The two Nexus smartphones are also believed to come with a new Nexus launcher from Google, one that would bring redesigned home buttons and some interesting changes regarding the app drawer icon. The devices will most likely sport glass and metal builds and have fingerprint scanners on the back.
