No new features are included, only minor bug fixes

Google is readying the launch of its Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, which looks to be scheduled for September 29.

Many of the Nexus smartphones and tablets will be getting the new version of the OS as an upgrade soon after Google releases Marshmallow.

However, for the time being, there's no telling which Nexus devices Google plans to upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow and when exactly that will happen.

Until then though, it looks like there's one more update that these devices will be receiving before Google starts rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

US-based carrier T-Mobile has just confirmed software update LYZ28K will be pushed to Nexus 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 beginning this week.

T-Mobile will not be the only network operator to deploy the update, but other carriers will have different builds available for download, so if you see a different version on your smartphone or tablet you should know that it should bring the same changes.

Speaking of which, there's a very short changelog attached to T-Mobile's announcement, which confirms that there are no new features included in this update.

The update is available over Wi-Fi only for the moment

According to the Magenta carrier, Android version 5.1.1 Lollipop / LMY48M should bring some Android security updates and minor bug fixes.

The carrier also confirms that the update should be pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so not all devices might receive it at the same time.

It's also worth mentioning that for the time being the update is only available over Wi-Fi, but it will go live over cellular network at a later date.

Since Google promised to offer monthly security updates for Nexus devices, we must assume this is one of those that don't really bring any new features.
