Microsoft is readying Windows 10 for release, which means Windows Phone users will have to wait slightly longer for their next version of the operating system.

The Redmond-based company confirmed Windows 10 would arrive on PC on July 29, but the mobile version will be launched later in fall.

While the exact release date of Windows 10 Mobile is still a mystery, we know Microsoft plans to launch at least two high-end smartphones.

They are known as Lumia 940 XL and Lumia 940, but Microsoft will probably launch them under different names. There's already a good amount of information regarding these two smartphones, so here is more coming from another leaker.

There will be more than one Lumia phone launched this fall

According to @Ricciolo1, the next Lumia smartphone will be slim and fast. That's no surprise since we already know the Lumia 940 XL will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, while the Lumia 940 should pack a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 CPU.

He also claims the smartphone will be “strong” and that it will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating. Although this information might be new, it shouldn't surprise anyone.

Microsoft has been holding back from launching a flagship smartphone for many months and the last thing the company wants is to disappoint its fans.

This means that the next Lumia smartphones will be packed with the best technology available on the market, but also some innovative stuff that Microsoft is now developing in its R&D labs.

More information about Windows 10 Mobile expected release date, as well as the new Lumia smartphones, will most certainly surface soon after Microsoft launches Windows 10 on PC.

Until then though, we still have some Windows 10 Mobile builds to test before the new version of the OS goes live, so don't forget to register for Windows Insiders program.
