Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 preview build for users enrolled in the Fast ring, but as it’s the case lately, there are no new features and the focus is on subtle improvements here and there.

Windows 10 build 19624 comes to the Fast ring with four different changes.

The first of them concerns the new search box that has recently been added to the default apps Setting page. The company says it disabled this search box because it still wants to improve the performance and reliability, possibly after some users reported problems with it.

Then, the VPN connection logic is further refined, so starting with this build, when you disconnect from a VPN network, the option to auto-connect is no longer checked.

The third improvement concerns the text of the Add a Device dialog, which now includes controllers in the list of examples under Bluetooth.

Copying optional update information

And last but not least, Microsoft is making some changes to the Optional Updates Available section that is available in Windows Update in the Settings app.

“We’re updating the Optional Updates Available section that appears in Windows Update settings, so that you will now be able to copy the text in case you need it,” Microsoft says.

This is an improvement that comes in handier than most people think as it allows us to copy update information and search for extra details online, which is something that many people do before actually installing the found updates.

And as every other build, Windows 10 build 19624 also comes with additional fixes and known issues, and you can check all of them in the box after the jump. There are four known issues in this update, so with just a few exceptions, everything else should be running pretty smoothly for the majority of users.
