14 DAY TRIAL // Chuwi is one of the Chinese companies that are trying to wrestle with the big guys, and as we’ve told you in our own reviews, the firm has surprisingly good products that really offer excellent value for the money.
Their latest device is a 2-in-1 similar in specs with Microsoft’s own Surface Book, and Chuwi says that the display is even identical to what the Redmond-based software giant is offering on its laptop.
Called the Hi13, Chuwi’s new tablet features a 13.5.-inch display with a resolution of 3000x2000 pixels and 3:2 screen ratio, and is powered by an Intel Apollo Lake Celeron N3450 CPU coupled with 4GB DDr3 RAM. Additionally, it boasts a 9th generation Intel integrated graphics card, as well as 64GB eMM storage, Wi-Fi, a USB Type-C port, and Windows 10.
And last but not least, the Hi13 adopts the approach invented by Microsoft with the Surface, so it also sports a detachable keyboard and pen support.
Same display as the Surface Book
Now, for the comparison between the Hi13 and the Surface Book, Chuwi says the display is identical, as they are both 13.5 inches in size, have a 3000x2000 pixel resolution with 267 PPI and 3:2 aspect ratio. Furthermore, the two displays support 10 point multi-touch, 100 percent sRGB, and feature 400 Nits brightness and 1700:1 contrast ratio.
It goes without saying that you shouldn’t expect this device to be as powerful as the Surface Book, and the difference is made by the other specs. The top-of-the-range Surface Book comes with an Intel i7 processor and a dedicated NVIDIA graphics card, but the Hi13 should still be good enough for typical activities like browsing and working with documents.
As far as pricing is concerned, Chuwi is yet to disclose such details, but more information will probably be unveiled soon when the device goes on sale.
What’s important to note, however, is that Chuwi, as the majority of Chinese manufacturers, targets a price that’s as low as possible, so there’s a good chance the Hi13 will be insanely cheap. And it goes without saying that it’ll be a lot more affordable than the Surface Book.
