It’s Patch Tuesday, it’s time for new updates

While all eyes are currently on Windows 11, there are plenty of devices out there still running Windows 10, not just because Microsoft hasn’t completed the rollout of its new OS but also because older devices are not eligible for the upgrade.

With Windows 10 still getting support until October 2025, it’s obviously critical for all devices to be provided with timely updates, and this is why Patch Tuesday is such an important moment of the month.

The March 2022 cycle brought updates to all supported Windows 10 versions, as it follows:

Microsoft hasn’t provided too many specifics on what’s new in these updates, but the focus has obviously been on security improvements, as this is what Patch Tuesday is all about in the first place.

The changelog includes just one mention of a bug impacting the resetting feature and leaving some files behind.

“Addresses a known issue that occurs when you attempt to reset a Windows device and its apps have folders that contain reparse data, such as Microsoft OneDrive or Microsoft OneDrive for Business. When you select Remove everything, files that have been downloaded or synced locally from Microsoft OneDrive might not be deleted. Some devices might take up to seven (7) days after you install this update to fully address the issue and prevent files from persisting after a reset. For immediate effect, you can manually trigger Windows Update Troubleshooter using the instructions in Windows Update Troubleshooter,” Microsoft says.

The same fix is bundled with all updates, including the one shipped to Windows 11 devices.
