Microsoft says a blurry font could be seen on the taskbar

Microsoft has confirmed another bug in Windows 10 cumulative update KB5001391, as the company says that some devices might end up with a blurry font on the taskbar.

However, the blur would only impact the news and interests UI, which has recently been enabled for all Windows 10 users to provide them with news, the weather forecast, and more essential information on the topics they’re interested in.

The software giant says it’s already working on a fix, but unfortunately, there’s no workaround available for the time being.

“After installing this update or later, the news and interests button in the Windows taskbar might have blurry text on certain display configurations,” it says. “We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.”

More known issues in cumulative update KB5001391

This isn’t the first known issue in Windows 10 cumulative update KB5001391, as this release also comes with glitches that affected performance in games, Dolby Digital audio problems.

At the same time, Microsoft says some problems could also be experienced due to the browser switch happening on Windows 10 and which replaces the legacy version of Edge with the Chromium sibling.

“Devices with Windows installations created from custom offline media or custom ISO image might have Microsoft Edge Legacy removed by this update, but not automatically replaced by the new Microsoft Edge. This issue is only encountered when custom offline media or ISO images are created by slipstreaming this update into the image without having first installed the standalone servicing stack update (SSU) released March 29, 2021 or later,” Microsoft says.

The workaround has been shared on the official KB page mentioned above, though the easiest way to fix everything is to just install the new Edge browser.
