Microsoft has released Windows 10 build 21237, and the biggest change in this new version is a makeover of the news and interest UI that has recently been introduced in the operating system.

This new feature displays the weather forecast right on the taskbar, and when expanded, it displays additional information, such as news for user-defined categories.

Starting with this new build, it comes with a much more modern look that makes sense going forward.

“Today, we’re excited to start rolling out a new design that makes it even more delightful to scan and interact with the headlines and stories in your feed. Imagery from articles now shines through with a vibrant and colorful design, making your feed more glanceable, engaging, and beautiful,” Microsoft explains.

“There are more updates when you click “See more news”. The new feed experience that opens in the browser has been redesigned to help you catch up with the top headlines at a glance and enjoy a vibrant feed that brings your personalized stories to light. Larger cards can now also show article text, helping you get a sense of a topic before diving in.”

Currently available for a limited number of users

The new look of this feature is currently rolling out to users in the United States, but Microsoft says it’ll land in other regions rather sooner than later.

For the time being, however, the news and interests experience is only available for select insiders in the Dev channel, and Microsoft hasn’t shared an ETA as to when it could go live in production builds of Windows 10.

But given the next feature update for Windows 10 will be just a small update, there’s a chance the new feature will be part of the next major release coming in the fall of this year.
