14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung is preparing to launch its next flagships, the Galaxy S8 and S8+, during an event to be held in New York City and London on March 29. The phone has leaked in multiple images and a new video has just appeared.
Samsung’s Galaxy S8 has just leaked in a video posted by SlashLeaks, revealing the phone from all sides, including its back panel, which wasn’t seen in previous leaks. The video thus confirms the position of the fingerprint scanner next to the rear camera. The prototype Galaxy S8 revealed in the video has a black color, but the phone will be offered in a few more options.
The video also reveals the front panel with its tiny bezels and the lack of the physical home button, as well as the many buttons located on the side of the phone. The Galaxy S8 will come with volume rockers on the side and a button for calling upon Bixby, Samsung’s own virtual assistant.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy S8 are rumored to start on April 10
The Galaxy S8 will come with a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD+ resolution and a rumored battery capacity of 3,000mAh. The larger model will feature a 6.2-inch display, with the same resolution, but a larger 3,500mAh battery.
Internally, the two phones will run the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC or Exynos 8895 processor, depending on the region. They will run the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and feature internal storage capacity of 64GB with the option to add more using a microSD card.
Rear camera capacity on the two phones reaches 12MP with LED flash, which is actually visible in the video. On the front, the phones will have 8MP sensors and iris scanners. The Galaxy S8 will come with IP68 certification against water and dust, as well as 3.5mm headphone jacks. Samsung will announce the two phones on March 29, but pre-orders are expected to start on April 10, with the phone hitting shelves on April 21.
