CES 2023 witnessed the unveiling of the latest-generation Predator laptops, and needless to say, Acer used this opportunity to take the wraps off some pretty impressive upgrades.

Let’s start with the top highlight.

The Predator Helios 16 can be ordered with a 16-inch display with a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, and this time, customers can choose between 165 Hz or 240 Hz refresh rates. However, a mini LED option is now available as well, boosting the refresh rate to no less than 250 Hz.

Acer explains that the new tech allows for over 1000 nits peak brightness with 1,000,000:1 high contrast ratio and 100% coverage of DCI-P3 color gamut.

If you’re interested in a larger display, the Predator Helios 18 has also received a pack of major upgrades as well.

“The Predator Helios 18 sports a breathtaking 18-inch (16:10) display with the following options: WUXGA (1920x1200) at 165 Hz, WQXGA (2560×1600) at 165 Hz or 240 Hz, or AUO’s superfast 250 Hz Mini LED display that showcases three times more ambient contrast ratio than conventional displays and supports 1000 local dimming zones to provide total freedom of use even in poor lighting conditions. The higher resolutions and fast refresh rates make images glide across the screens with minimal ghosting or tearing,” Acer explained.

The new laptops excel in terms of hardware specifications, so they also come with the new 13th Gen Intel Core processors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of SSD storage.

You’re also getting a mini-LED backlit keyboard with 1.8mm key travel and anti-ghosting N-key rollover, HMI 2.1, USB-C, and other hardware that would really come in handy for gaming.

And now, the bad news. The 16-inch laptop will go on sale in February in EMEA markets start at 2,399 Euros, while in the US, it should become available in March starting at $1,649. The bigger brother will wear a price tag of $1,699, and it is projected to hit the shelves in April.
