Microsoft has released a new Office preview build for users in the Current Channel, and according to the official changelog, there’s a lot to try in this update.

First and foremost, worth knowing is that the June 14 release is known as version 2206 build 15330.20114, so this is the version you should be running to get all the improvements you can find detailed before.

Microsoft says the Office suite is getting SketchUp support, with graphics to therefore being supported for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook documents.

“SketchUp is a popular 3D graphics program that makes it easy to create shareable conceptual designs, such as fully textured architectural models and other graphics used in industrial design, product design, and civil and mechanical engineering. Now, for the first time, SketchUp graphics (.skp files) can be integrated into your creations in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook! To add a SketchUp file to your content, click Insert > 3D Models > This Device, then select the .skp file you want and click Insert,” the software giant explains.

Microsoft Excel is also getting its own good news, this time related to a new Power BI dataflows connector.

“Dataflows are a self-service, cloud-based data preparation technology that enables users to ingest, transform, and load data. With the new From Dataflows connector, you can now connect and import data from dataflows directly into Excel. Users are able to immediately load data into Excel or use Power Query to transform the data prior to loading it into the application. To use this feature, click Get Data on the Data tab and then select From Power Platform > From Dataflows,” Microsoft notes.

Excel is also getting a faster and more efficient AutoFilter, while Outlook comes without any limits for searches (previously, Outlook restricted the number of displayed results to 1,000 whenever the user conducted a search).
