New features coming to Outlook with this update

Microsoft has recently released a new Microsoft Office build for users in the Office Insider program, and this time it’s Outlook the one that’s getting a lot of love.

More specifically, Microsoft Office version 16.38 comes with People view and Contacts support in Microsoft Outlook, which provides users with better control over all their contacts.

“View, add, edit, find, and delete contacts all from the same place. Explore contacts that are important to you and those you may want to follow up with,” Microsoft explains.

Then, Microsoft Outlook is being updated with an intelligent feature that suggests times for new meetings. When adding new contacts, Outlook now checks the available times, so the app can suggest times when all colleagues are free.

A Mark as Private option has been added to the event compose toolbar, while the search has been updated with new tools to make the whole process more effective.

“You can now choose to “Add More Options” in the Search expanded form. Using this, you can narrow your search by using additional fields such as Cc, Bcc, Priority, Read Status, Category and Flag status,” Microsoft explains.

Other Outlook improvements

The Microsoft Office team working on the Mac client has been quite busy with the Outlook app this month, as this is the third May release that brings important improvements.

The previous update, for example, which was published on May 12, included a new feature to create a meeting from email, thus making the process overall a lot more straightforward. Furthermore, it brought a new warning to indicate when you are working offline.

Keep in mind these are all improvements that are part of the Insider program, so it’ll take a bit more time until the stable version of Office for Mac receives them too.
