Apple unveiled the new Mac mini, five times more powerful than the last model and powered by quad- and 6-core processors and up to 64 GB RAM during their New York Special Event.

Apple's new Mac mini now comes in configurations featuring quad- and 6-core eighth-generation Intel processors that support Turbo Boost Speeds of up to 4.6 GHz, as well as Intel UHD graphics.

Mac mini now also comes with very easy to upgrade 2666 MHz SODIMM RAM, expandable up to 64 GB and allowing the Mac to work with more applications at the same time, as well as load larger documents and files than ever before.

All Mac minis now also feature all-flash storage with four times faster SSD drives that have capacities of up to 2 TB allowing for faster app launches and quicker file loading.

Mac mini also bundles Apple's T2 Security Chip with on-the-fly data encryption for increased security of your data and Apple's Secure Enclave that makes sure system software is not tampered with before and during the booting process.

The new Mac mini models are priced starting at $799 and are available for order today, from apple.com

Moreover, the four Thunderbolt 3 and an optional 10Gb Ethernet (a Gigabit Ethernet port being the default option) make it possible to connect to 4K and 5K Thunderbolt displays using high performance I/O.

The Mac mini also bundles two USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.0, and an audio jack, making it one of the most if not the most versatile device in Apple's Mac series line connectivity-wise.

It's also important to mention that Mac's mini enclosure is made out of 100% recycled aluminum, with most plastic-based parts also being made out of recycled materials, drastically reducing the new Mac mini's carbon footprint by roughly 50 percent when compared to the previous model.

The new Mac mini is available today on apple.com, with price tags starting at $799, and it will be made available in the Apple retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers starting November 7.
