Designers create new concepts imagining a Lumia 850

Nobody knows if the Lumia 850 will ever come to be, although there are people who claim that it will most likely launch next year, but in the meantime, skilled designers across the world use the existing details to create their own concepts imagining the device.

So here are new renders created by the folks over at Phone Designer, who had already designed some other concepts during the weekend, which mix the Lumia 850 design with the one of iPhones and Samsung Galaxy S6.

As you can see in these photos, the very same mix lives on in these new renderings, but this time, the designers have gone for a more premium finish with more expensive materials, such as wood and leather.

But what’s the most interesting in these concept photos is the fact that building a phone that uses leather and wood materials on the back is not at all impossible, and Lumia 950 and 950 XL are the living proof. Although they come with a plastic cover, third-party companies such as Mozo have created their very own cases that use leather as the main material.

Lumia 850, abandoned or not?

As far as its looks are concerned, we’re pretty sure Microsoft doesn’t want to go for a design that reminds everyone of the iPhone or Samsung’s Galaxy S6, so expect the Lumia 850, if it’s real, to look more like a Lumia phone.

People close to the matter have said Microsoft is still interested in bringing the Lumia 850 to the market, but this will only happen in 2016, most likely in the first quarter.

The Lumia 850 will come as a successor to the 830 and will probably be launched as an affordable flagship device, just like the original model. Obviously, it will come with Windows 10 Mobile and boast support for high-end features, such as Windows Hello.
