If you’re a fan of Tom Hardy’s work and take great pleasure in seeing what new ways he finds of challenging himself as an actor, here’s one movie you will not want to miss: “Legend” is the story of real-life gangsters Reggie and Ron Kray, who ruled London in the ‘60s, and stars Hardy in a dual role.

The Krays were twins, with Reggie acting as the brains of the operation and Ron as the muscle. That made sense, since Ron was the most deranged, a genuine loose cannon who hit or shot first, asked questions later.

The film’s first teaser, released in May, only went as far as to establish that and the brothers’ background. This first extended trailer goes into the details of their relationship and their different but complementing personalities, which was what helped them rise to the top.

Hardy is an actor known for his tremendous dedication for the role he’s playing, whether it’s in a silly rom-com, a period drama or a gritty action movie.

Imagine all this and multiply it by 2, because that’s what we’re getting with “Legend:” the very best of him, times 2.

This is the first time he does a dual role and he approached the offer with some reluctance, as per his own words: he didn’t want to fall short of expectations. Based on the trailer, he won’t.

“Legend” also stars Emily Browning, Chazz Palminteri, David Thewlis, Taron Egerton and Christopher Eccleston, and will open in the UK in September and in the US starting October 2.

Attached to this blog post is the official poster, which bears a definite resemblance to the iconic “Scarface” artwork, which you will find in the gallery to compare.
