Microsoft has released new Intel microcode updates for all versions of Windows 10, including version 1909 (November 2019 Update) and 1903 (May 2019 Update).

The full list of updates, which you can find embedded in the box after the jump, also includes an update for the original Windows 10 version published in July 2015. On the other hand, the upcoming Windows 10 version 2004, also referred to as 20H1, isn’t getting the update.

This feature update is projected to launch in the spring of this year.

In addition to resolving hardware bugs, these new Intel microcode updates also add support or revisions for the following families of processors:

  • Denverton
  • Sandy Bridge
  • Sandy Bridge E, EP
  • Valley View
  • Whiskey Lake U
What’s important to know, however, is that these updates are only available from the Microsoft Update Catalog, so they aren’t offered to Windows 10 devices through Windows Update. You can find the download links in the box at the end of the article.

The full list of supported processors is published on this Microsoft page here.

New security updates due on February 11

While these updates are specifically aimed at resolving hardware bugs, new security fixes for Windows 10 are projected to be released on the February 11 Patch Tuesday.

This release will include cumulative updates for all Windows 10 versions – right now, only Windows 10 version 1809 and newer are supported for Home and Pro SKUs; the other versions are only serviced as part of the LTSC or, for newer releases, if the Enterprise or Education SKUs are installed.

Microsoft and Intel recommend users to install the new microcode updates as soon as possible. A system reboot will be required to complete the installation, so saving the work on a device is recommended before beginning the deployment.
