Video game publisher Activision and hardware maker Sony are announcing that they are partnering up to launch a new bundle that features the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 first-person shooter and the PlayStation 4 home console, which will be offered in the United States for the price of 349.99 dollars, the equivalent of 299.99 Euro.

The two companies are not saying for how long the offer is available, but it's very probable that it will be gone after the holiday period finishes.

Gamers who are interested in picking it up will get access to a 500 GB hard drive version of the PlayStation 4 as well as a DualShock 4 jet black wireless controller as well as a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

Sony states, "We’re pretty sure this bundle will look pretty good under the tree – unless, of course, you want to play it first. PlayStation is truly the best place to play. This is yet another great bundle option to join the PlayStation 4 community. Happy holidays and I hope to see you all online this holiday season!"

The offer is designed to attract those who have not yet played the biggest first-person shooter of the year and might be looking for a deal when it comes to a new piece of hardware.

Activision is planning to launch the first downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, called Awakening, at some point during January of next year.

The DLC will introduce four new maps for gamers to play on as well as more weapons and tweaks to the core gameplay mechanics and those gaming on the PlayStation 4 will be able to experience it all 30 days before gamers on the PC or the Xbox One.

There are four major content drops planned for Duty: Black Ops 3 in 2016.

Sony plans to increase the sales lead of the PlayStation 4

The home console has managed to sell more units than the Xbox One during the month of November in the United States, according to the NPD Group, after falling behind the Microsoft platform one month before.

Both companies are saying that their two devices are very successful and that Black Friday was very successful for the new generation of hardware.

In December, the Xbox One is also being offered as part of some bundles for the price of 349.99 dollars (299.99 Euro) which means that players who are looking for an upgrade have a wide range of choices.

Both the devices will revert to their normal prices when December ends, but it's very likely that a permanent cut will be implemented by both Sony and Microsoft during next year as they seek to keep their hardware attractive.

A new Call of Duty title is already in development at Infinity Ward and official information about its story and unique mechanics will probably be offered in late spring of next year, with the launch taking place on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 late in 2016.
