Electronic Arts is ready to give Need for Speed another try, and they are preparing to launch the new reboot of the series, which should be here by this time next week. Developers are seeking to get people excited, and they've made public all the locations that will be used in the title.

Need for Speed is the kind of game that usually sells just with its name. No matter how bad the game, it's always a hit. Gamers continue to say that they won't buy the next one since the current release was weak, but somehow Electronic Arts manages to get people interested every couple of years.

To be fair, the last couple of Need of Speed games weren't bad, but they weren't good either. As it stands right now, Electronic Arts needs a home run with the new title in the Need for Speed series. They aren't going drop the franchise, but it will be a long while until we see another one.

Reboot or not

This latest reboot of the Need For Speed franchise feels like it could go both ways. After trying a game with a powerful single-player component, one only with racing and no story, not to mention a few others in between, the Ghost Games studio wants to recapture some of the glory of previous titles like Need for Speed: Underground 2 or Need for Speed: Carbon. If we take a look at the stages, that's quite obvious.

"Welcome to Ventura Bay, the place to be for those wanting to make a name for themselves. Take your ride through wide city streets, push it sideways down narrow mountain roads and hit the limiter as you put the pedal to the metal on the freeway. With plenty to see, Ventura Bay is the perfect place for you to show off your skills and get the recognition and respect you deserve," said Ben Walke, the Community & Content Lead for the NFS project.

The six districts of Venture Bay are as follows: Burnwood, Crescent Mountains, Royal Park, South Port, El Rey, and Franklin Terrace. All of them will provide more than enough space to race all the cars that have already been announced.
