We don't know when the offer will end on Origin

The 2012 Need for Speed: Most Wanted is being offered for free by Electronic Arts through the Origin distribution platform.

Origin is doing its best to fight with Steam, and it's already managed to set itself apart in a couple of ways. First of all, Origin offers free games from time to time to people who have an account. They only have to download it, and it remains in their library. Granted, most of the free games that have been offered until now have been rather old and uninteresting, but they, at least, are trying.

Secondly, Electronic Arts is trying to pioneer a subscription service on the PC, similar to Netflix. In theory, you would pay for a monthly subscription and get games for free. For now, the provided library is still very small and not all that enticing.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is a nice game to have

The Need for Speed: Most Wanted that was launched back in 2012 is by no means a bad game, but it's not extraordinary either. It's somewhere in the middle, but it still holds its own in the visual department, even four years after launch.

“Use the open world to your advantage to find hiding spots, hit jumps and earn new vehicles to keep you one step ahead. In true Criterion Games fashion, your friends are at the heart of your experience. In an open world with no menus or lobbies, you’ll be able to instantly challenge your friends and prove your driving skill in a variety of seamless multiplayer events,” the official website reads.

This was developed by Criterion Games, the same ones who did the Burnout series, so you know you're going to have some fun, although it's not clear if the multiplayer will be populated enough.

In any case, make sure that you pick Need for Speed: Most Wanted as soon as possible because the offer doesn't have an end date.
