Need for Speed on the PC has just been delayed until spring of 2016. The PS4 and Xbox One versions are still on track to launch in November, so Ghost Games and Electronic Arts hope to delight as many fans as possible with their online racing experience.

The Need for Speed saga has been around for decades, and while it's amassed a huge number of fans over the years, recent times haven't been so good for the series, due to lackluster experiences and a lot of experimentation.

The upcoming Need for Speed reboot, however, goes back to the popular NFS: Underground iteration and returns principles like nighttime racing or car tuning.

Need for Speed isn't coming to PC anytime soon

While the game was initially set to launch this November across PC, PS4, and Xbox One, it seems that the racing experience will only debut this fall on the two consoles. Ghost Games and EA confirm on the official blog that the PC edition of Need for Speed is now scheduled for release in spring of 2016.

According to the two companies, the decision was made to ensure that the PC team has enough time to improve the visuals, unlock the framerate, and make other specific enhancements to this version of the racing experience. They also pledge to release the game with all the different content updates launched for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Ghost Games also promises constant patches and enhancements to the racing experience so that fans have many things to do and their feedback is answered.

The studio also mentions that the previously announced closed beta for PS4 and Xbox One will help it ensure that the servers powering the online multiplayer are stable and won't have any problems at the actual launch. The servers are also dedicated, meaning there won't be any host migration systems or other such things.
