2K has just announced that NBA 2K21 is getting an important update that further improves the game for next-generation consoles. Since NBA 2K21 is already available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the developers behind the sports franchise are working hard to eradicate all the issues reported by players, while taking advantage of the new, powerful hardware.

The first major update for those who are lucky enough to play NBA 2K21 on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 brings a huge number of changes to player likeness, as well as performance improvements in The City, polish changes and fixes across MyCAREER, and more.

First off, 2K revealed that the update adds improvements to both male and female face scans using the MyNBA2K mobile app. Also, multiple improvements to hair, headbands, hats, and other accessories created by players have been included too. The official sponsor logo has been added to the San Antonio Spurs uniform, although these have official unveil dates by the NBA, so they will be updated in due time.

The details provided by the developer includes the list of players and coaches that have had their likenesses updated, so here they are: Paul George, Andrew Wiggins, Nikola Jokic, Jordan Clarkson, Naz Reid, Stephon Marbury, Dwight Howard, Frank Vogel, Dejounte Murray, Robert Williams, Theo Pinson, Ky Bowman, Jeff Hornacek, Daequan Cook, Sam Perkins, Jerome Kersey, Buck Williams, Luc Longley, Nate Bjorkgren, and Asante Munson.

On top of that, the update further improves fidelity on the jumbotron in the Houston Rockets arena, and addresses reported stability issues with 2KTV. Gameplay-wise, the update enables Coach Settings, System Proficiency, Assign Plays, and CPU/User Slider menus in the pause menu of Quick Play games.

Also, a huge number of fixes and improvements to The City, MyCareer, The W, MyNBA, and MyTEAM have been implemented, so make sure to check out the full log on the official NBA 2K21 website. It's important to mention that the update is now available on the Xbox Series X/S, but PlayStation 5 players should start receiving soon as well.
