The GNOME 3.20.1 desktop environment was released two weeks ago with numerous updated components, but it looks like some of them are yet to receive their first point releases.

The Nautilus (Files) file manager is one of those components that only today, two weeks after the launch of GNOME 3.20.1, received the first maintenance release in the stable 3.20 series. We've spotted Nautilus 3.20.1 earlier today, April 28, 2016, on the main GNOME FTP download servers.

And, as usual, we've managed to get our hands on the internal changelog, which we've also attached at the end of the article for reference, so we can tell you what has been changed since Nautilus 3.20. There is a total of seventeen bug fixes in Nautilus 3.20.1, as you can see from the release notes.

Here's what's in Nautilus 3.20.1

Among the changes implemented in Nautilus 3.20.1, we can notice that the dialogs have been made more modal, the shortcuts used for changing the views mode should work better now, a crash that occurred when attempting to use scripts has been patched, and the application will no longer switch focus to newly created tabs by default.

The list of changes continues with the ability for Nautilus to allow more apps to be set as default in network locations, the newly created or renamed files can now force the view to be scrolled automatically to their current location, and the hamburger menu action has been updated to be available when closing a tab too.

There are, of course, various other small fixes implemented in Nautilus 3.20.1, whose sources you can download via our website, so please check the changelog below if you're curious to know what exactly has been added or repaired. Don't forget to update Nautilus in your GNU/Linux distribution as soon as it hits the repos.
