The Last of Us Part II is one of the most anticipated titles coming in 2020. It's also one of the few games that have been delayed indefinitely due to coronavirus pandemic and then reprogrammed to be released after the leak of its ending.

Early this week, Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann revealed that The Last of Us Part II has gone gold, which means it's done and ready to be shipped. Of course, we have to wait one more month for the game to arrive, but that's much better than waiting indefinitely for it.

This project represents not only years of hard work and passion from everyone here at Naughty Dog, but the continuation of a journey that began with Ellie, Joel, and each of you about seven years ago. There have been some twists and turns, but we’re so lucky to have had you with us every step of the way. Your enthusiasm and support mean so much to everyone here at the studio. As we ramp up for this final stretch before The Last of Us Part II arrives in your hands, there’s still more we’re looking forward to sharing with you, beginning with the debut of our all-new story trailer that provides a brief look into the next chapter in Ellie and Joel’s story.

The new story trailer released today shows some of the most intense moments of the game, or so it looks. Acting and graphics are top-notch and the soundtrack perfectly complements the gory action. The trailer is spoiler-free in case you're wondering, but if you don't want to get in touch with the new characters, then don't watch it at all.

The Last of Us Part II will be exclusively launched on PlayStation 4 on June 19. We expect a visually-improved version for next-generation consoles to be released as well, but this is just a guess based on what happened with the original game, which was initially launched on PlayStation 3.
