14 DAY TRIAL // NACON’s upcoming Revolution 5 Pro controller is the result of years of research, the French company claims. The PlayStation 5 controller has been designed to offer maximum precision, ergonomics, and comfort, after years of constant discussions with both players and professional gamers.
Although it’s advertised as a PlayStation 5 controller, the Revolution 5 Pro is compatible with PlayStation 4 too. Additionally, it’s supposed to work with PCs, but compatibility with PC has not been tested or endorsed by Sony, so you’ll have to wait for the reviews to confirm or refute this claim.
The Revolution 5 Pro comes with new features like Hall Effect technology, which allows for greater precision, with the joysticks and triggers, as well as a very long service life.
More importantly, the officially licensed controller is fully customizable to suit every player and can be used more than 10 hours before recharging. One other selling point of NACON’s controller is that it can be connected to wireless headphones via Bluetooth as well as wired headsets via the included 3.5mm jack.
“This new model in the Revolution line is the culmination of years of development and NACON's passion for gaming. We wanted to create the best controller possible, a controller that would give gamers the upper hand. The Revolution 5 Pro combines the best of our expertise, technological innovation and ergonomics,” said Yannick Allaert, Head of Accessories Division at NACON.
Naturally, the Revolution 5 Pro can be used wired or wireless. In that regard, the controller comes with a cable in the retail package, which is 300 cm (118 inches) long, a very important aspect for console players.
As far as price and availability goes, NACON announced this week that the Revolution 5 Pro will be available in December via major US retailers for $200, which makes it a lot more expensive than Sony’s DualSense wireless controller ($70).
That said, those who want to pre-order NACON’s Revolution 5 Pro will be able to do so starting November at Best Buy and GameStop.
