Leaker claims Apple is planning a nice surprise this winter

New information that reached the web this weekend reveals that Apple is working on a mysterious surprise for its users, and this one could be announced just in time for Christmas.

While we’re only getting very limited information, the revealing comes from a well-known Apple leaker, so there’s a chance it’s indeed accurate. But of course, the cryptic message leaves us with no other option than to speculate what this surprise could be, especially since it’s supposed to be “good for winter.”

“You’ll get a Christmas surprise from Apple (PS: Winter exclusive, good for winter),” leaker L0vetodream posted on Twitter during the weekend.

And now, it’s time to guess what this whole surprise is all about.

The meaning

Needless to say, the first thing that comes to find is that Apple could unveil a new product just in time for the holiday season. That’s highly unlikely though, as the last few months have been full of Apple announcements. The company took the wraps off the Apple Watch Series 6 in September, followed by new iPhones in October. Eventually, the tech giant also introduced the M1 chip and the new devices running it in November.

So a fourth hardware event doesn’t make much sense right now, though it goes without saying this isn’t totally out of the table.

On the other hand, this winter surprise could be a relaunch of the 12 Days of Gifts, a campaign that Apple has used before to give away or offer discounts for apps, music, movies, and other content in the App Store. The program, however, was abandoned in 2016, so there’s a chance that 2020 could mark its return, if this is indeed what the leaker is talking about.

For now, we should all just take everything with a pinch of salt and wait for more information to become available for everybody.
