BlackBerry users out there have now two more applications to enjoy on their handsets, including the new app from Sports Illustrated, as well as myKite, a social-networking app. The application from Sports Illustrated offers BlackBerry users the possibility to stay up-to-date with the latest news and scores, while the myKite coming from Brightkite connects to the company's site, where users can interact with contacts.

myKite, the social-network app from Brightkite, comes towards BlackBerry users with a feature list that includes: - View and navigate your streams (Friends, Nearby, Universe, Mentions, and User); - Post a Note/Photo to your current location; - Post a Note/Photo to a certain location; - Check in to a Placemark; - Create and delete Placemarks; - Check in via GPS; - Check in via Place Search; - Send and receive Direct Messages; - View and post comments on a post; - Get notifications when you receive a new Brightkite email.

Some of the features that the Sports Illustrated software solution brings to BlackBerries include an easy access to all content that is available on SI.com, (such as Peter King’s MMQB, Tom Verducci’s Inside Baseball, Jon Heyman’s Daily Scoop, Stewart Mandel’s Inside College Football and Jon Wertheim’s Inside Tennis), news and buzz from different sports, as well as access to impressive photography in the SI Photos section.

Other features of the application include the access to Breaking News, through the background delivery system included with the application; news, scores and standings from different leagues, including NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, college hoops and college football, as well as news from soccer, NASCAR, tennis, boxing, cycling, horse racing, Olympics and cycling.

In addition, the Sports Illustrated BlackBerry app also allows users to: - Share articles and galleries via e-mail, Twitter or Delicious. You can even e-mail the story to yourself for later viewing; - Make personalizations – Customize the top nav to include only the sports you follow; - Switch to text view – enable this feature to eliminate images and allow for even faster navigation through sections and headlines.
