More than two weeks after Mozilla unveiled Firefox 54 as the first branch of the web browser to use multiple operating system processes for web page content, we now see the availability of the first point release.

Mozilla Firefox 54.0.1 was first offered to the stable release channel users on June 29, 2017, and, according to the official release notes, it fixes a Netflix issues for users of Linux-based operating systems, addresses a PDF printing issue, and resolves multiple tab-related issues that have been reported from Firefox 54.0.

Among these, we can mention display problems with the tab title and the opening of a new tab, an issue when multiple tabs were opened, as well as a tab display issue that could occur when downloading files. If you experienced any of these bugs with Firefox 54.0, update to version 54.0.1 as soon as possible.

Firefox 54.0.1 available now for Linux, Mac, and Windows

Mozilla Firefox 54.0.1 is now available for download on GNU/Linux, macOS, and Microsoft Windows operating systems as binaries directly from our website, which you can install on your PC, or you can update the web browser using the OTA (Over-the-Air) update system on macOS and Windows computers.

To update, go to hamburger menu on the toolbar, click the question mark button (Help menu), and then click on the "About Firefox" entry. In the About Firefox dialog, the new Firefox 54.0.1 version should immediately begin downloading, and you'll be promoted to restart the web browser to complete the installation.

On the other hand, Linux users need to wait until the Firefox 54.0.1 packages land in the stable repositories of their favorite distribution before updating. On some GNU/Linux operating systems you can update some packages yourself if you know how, but we recommend to wait for the official ones and then update your Firefox browser.
