A new version of the browser is available for users

Mozilla has recently launched the very first minor revision to Firefox 97, and just as expected, the company has focused mostly on small bugs and performance refinements.

Firefox 97.0.1 is therefore available for download with bug fixes aimed at TikTok and Hulu users, as Mozilla has managed to address a couple of errors impacting the two services. Furthermore, the company explains it has also corrected a compatibility issue with WebRoot security software that rendered the browser impossible to use.

“Fixed an issue where TikTok videos would fail to load when selected from a user's profile page. Fixed an issue which led to Picture-in-Picture mode being unable to be toggled on Hulu. Works around problems with WebRoot SecureAnywhere antivirus rendering Firefox unusable in some situations,” Mozilla explains in the official release notes of the new browser version.

What’s new in Firefox 97

While this is obviously a minor update, Firefox 97 landed earlier this month with important improvements, including support for the new style of scrollbars on Windows 11.

Furthermore, Mozilla ended support for some colorway themes and introduced new ones.

“On February 8, we expired the 18 colorway themes that shipped along with Firefox 94. This signals the end of a special, limited-time feature set. However, you can hold onto your favorite colorway, as long as you’re using it on the expiration date. In other words, if a colorway is “enabled” in the add-ons manager, that colorway is yours forever,” the company said.

“Beginning February 15, we are releasing 6 brand-new colorways in a special partner collaboration. U.S.-based fans of the film can visit truecolors.firefox.com to activate official Turning Red-inspired Colorways, available exclusively in Firefox for desktop through April 30, 2022.”

The new Firefox version is available for download on all supported desktop platforms, namely Windows, Linux, and Mac.
