14 DAY TRIAL // Mozilla has recently released a new update to Firefox browser, but just as expected, the focus has been entirely on fixing bugs and improving performance.
Firefox 62 was officially published earlier this month, and since then, new versions have been all about resolving the issues that users discovered in the browser.
Firefox 62.0.2 makes no exception, so it doesn’t come with any new features, but the changelog is worth a look anyway, especially if this is your daily browser. The full changelog is available in the box after the jump.
First and foremost, it’s worth knowing that this new release resolved a bug that caused bookmarks which weren’t visited before to show up as autofill suggestions in the address bar. Mozilla says this occurred in the case of users who had bookmarks of websites they never visited or after cleaning the browser history.
New version available on all platforms
There are also improvements specifically aimed at language packs, and Mozilla says the following in the release notes of this new build:
“Fixed a fallback option in Firefox when language packs are missing on startup (Avast/AVG deleted language packs which in combination with the bug caused Firefox to show a yellow window with The new version of Firefox also comes with refinements to prevent crashes happening when profiles are shared between a current and a new build of the browser, but also to restore window size and position when the app is restarted on Windows.
Overall, Firefox 62.0.2 is all about the little details, and although you may not notice anything major after installing it, the overall browsing experience should be improved on all platforms.
