Mozilla has just released an updated build of Firefox browser, this time focusing exclusively on minor improvements for the main 108 build.

The new version of Firefox is 108.0.2, and it comes with just two fixes. One of them is aimed at macOS devices, as Mozilla explains that in some cases, the browser crashed when the user was playing video in the app.

The second fix is aimed at a glitch that caused a crash when working with browser history.

The following fixes are part of the latest Firefox update:

Fixes a crash for some users on Mac OS X 10.12-10.14 during video playback (bug 1806391). Fixes a crash that might occur when managing browser history (bug 1806408). The "Tabs sharing devices" menu item for WebRTC is now located in the tools menu on macOS only (bug 1807697).

Given this is a revision to Firefox 108, the new build therefore doesn’t come with any new features. But on the other hand, all the goodies that were part of the main build are still there, only that everything should now be working a lot smoother.

For example, one of the biggest changes in Firefox 108 is support for the efficiency mode on Windows 11, which essentially means that the browser can now limit resource usage for background tabs.

There are also improvements for JavaScript imports and for the built-in Process Manager.

“Import maps, which allow web pages to control the behavior of JavaScript imports, are now enabled by default. The shift+esc keyboard shortcut now opens the Process Manager, offering a way to quickly identify processes that are using too many resources,” Mozilla explained when it released the new Firefox build.

The updated version of the browser is available for download on all supported desktop platforms, including Windows, Linux, and macOS.
