14 DAY TRIAL // After it made sure Firefox is one of the most popular web browsers on the desktop, Mozilla continues their quest to conquer the mobile world with new and innovative apps.
Today, Mozilla announced that it had developed two new apps for Apple's iOS and Google's Android mobile operating systems, Firefox Lockbox for iOS and Notes by Firefox for Android. The two apps are currently available for testing through the company's Mobile Test Pilot Experiments initiative.
The Firefox Lockbox for iOS promises to be a password manager that you can take anywhere, so you won't have to reset your new passwords when you forget them. While the app can sync passwords across devices, it's only compatible with passwords save through the Firefox web browser via a Firefox Sync account.
"This means you can use any password you’ve saved in the browser to log into any online account like your Twitter or Instagram app. No need to open a web page. It’s that seamless and simple. Plus, you can also use Face ID and Fingerprint touch to unlock the app, so you can safely access your accounts," said Mozilla.
Meet Notes by Firefox for Android, a simple and secure note-taking app
On the other hand, Notes by Firefox for Android promises to be a simple and secure note-taking app that you can take with you while on the go. The app is currently only available for Android devices and it is capable of syncing notes from any Firefox web browser on any smartphone or tablet powered by the Android mobile OS.
This means that Notes by Firefox will help you sync your notes from desktop to your mobile device and vice-versa is a simple and straightforward manner. Mozilla says that all notes stored on your Firefox Sync account will be fully encrypted from end-to-end so no one can intercept them in any way.
Those interested in testing the new mobile apps developed by Mozilla would have to enroll in the company's Mobile Test Pilot Experiments for Firefox program.
