14 DAY TRIAL // It looks like the Disney Movies Anywhere video streaming service is going away soon, and a new one will take its place in the coming months, put together by some major movie production companies.
Movies Anywhere is a promising video streaming service brought to you by 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros., Universal, and, of course, Disney, because it looks like the entire platform is built on top of Disney Movies Anywhere, which will soon go away, as announced on the website.
Google's Ben Serridge recently revealed that Google Play and Movies Anywhere would bring your movies together into one place where you'll be able to store all your favorite movies that you bought from either Google Play, iTunes, Amazon, or even Vudu. And the best part is that you can watch them anywhere, on any platform.
"Today, we’re taking it one step further by adding support for Movies Anywhere, allowing you to join your movie libraries from Google Play, Amazon, iTunes and Vudu into a single library that you can access on any of your devices, regardless of where the purchase was originally made," said Ben Serridge, Product Manager, Google Play Movies & TV.
You'll get five movies for free if you link two accounts or more
Available in the US at first, the new Movies Anywhere video storing and streaming service will allow you to connect your iTunes, Google Play, Amazon or Vudu accounts so that you can have all your purchases from Warner Bros., Disney, Sony Pictures, Universal or 20th Century Fox in one place, easily accessible on any device or operating systems, no matter where you are.
All you have to do is to install the new Movies Anywhere app on either an iOS or Android device or visit the official website, link your accounts and you'll be ready to watch all your movies on Google Play. There's even a promotion, as you'll get the Ice Age and Ghostbusters (2016) movies for free if you link one retailer, as well as Jason Bourne (2016), Big Hero 6, and The Lego Movie if you link the second one.
